How can I tell if I'm getting a migraine headache? Are there any effective treatments available?

A migraine headache is a group of neurological symptoms that usually includes a severe, recurring, intense, throbbing pain on one side of the head that can be very debilitating. Attacks can last between 4 and 72 hours. The actual headache is commonly accompanied by one or more of the following symptoms: visual disturbances, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and extreme sensitivity to sound, light, touch and smell.
Most often, migraines affect people between the ages of 15 and 55, and are most common in women between the ages of 20 and 45. They're usually first diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s. Initially it was believed that migraines were caused by the dilation and constriction of blood vessels in the head. But new research suggests that a migraine is actually a disorder involving nerve pathways and brain chemicals. Read more here:

This is a VERY EASY piece to build so it is perfect if you are a beginner! Here’s how I built it! This plan is for a full size bed but it is very easy to adjust the measurements to accommodate another size. I started by making all of my cuts for my top and bottom frame.
Then, I drilled all of my pocket holes with my Kreg Jig set for 1 1/2″ thick boards. I attached the top frame with 2 1/2″ pocket hole screws and did the same for the bottom frame. Next, I flipped the top frame over and attached the bottom frame to it with 2 1/2″ pocket hole screws. Read more here:

CORAL OVER PINK CHALKY PAINT CHILD’S TABLE AND CHAIR SET

I am a boy mom. A mother of two boys. No girls. I always, always, always thought that I would have a girl.  After having one boy I assumed that the second MUST be a girl.  I couldn’t possibly have two boys… we have way more girls than boys on my mother’s side so somehow that meant that I completely expected a girl. And then he was born. Boy 2. It was quite a shock.  And of course, now, I love it.  I wouldn’t trade my boys for anything.
But I still held onto the hope that down the road a little girl might come along. One day when I was out garage saling I happened upon a 65 year old child’s table and chair set.  And even though I had two boys, I thought it would be perfect for a little girl’s room.  If we ever had one. And then I waited. Read more here:

How to Wash Hats Without Jeopardizing The Shape

My husband is a hat-wearer and when I say “hat-wearer” that is an understatement. He wears hats everyday. Needless to say, we get some pretty grimy looking hats in our house. Some of his hats have become so dirty, that I didn’t even know what to do with them besides throw them in the washer with the darks to agitate the dirt out of it. I have ruined the shape of several hats before I came up with this solution.
You will need:
Hat
Large Tupperware Container
Detergent
Water
Blender Bottle Shaker Ball (optional)
How to Wash Hats Without Jeopardizing The Shape:Take a leak proof rubber top tupperware container,  Place your hat inside. Add 1 teaspoon detergent. I started using Charlie’s Soap laundry detergent and I am now SOLD on it. This tub does 1250 loads! I can use just 1 Tablespoon in a whole load of laundry and get the same results as I get using a scoop of any other brand. Read more here:

How to Recover Kitchen Chairs

You have NO idea how excited I am for this post. It’s week 5 of the One Room Challenge and that means we are on the last lap of the race. If it’s your first week visiting you should check out Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and Week 4. I still have a few hefty things to complete but I work well under pressure and almost prefer it (don’t tell Ray.) When I have too much time I tend to get scattered.
This week I am showing you how to recover kitchen chairs. I told you all last week that I had to scratch the island so I decided to give the kitchen table some fun new fabric. My sister and I hit up a local fabric store in Greenville and there were so many gorgeous fabrics but I was drawn to this blue cheetah print called Simba Navy. It’s a lovely thick high quality velvet. Read more here:

curly SETTING YOUR CURLS WITH SPONGE ROLLERS

How can you not love big bouncy curls… at least for those epic 20 minutes they typically last!? I know we all swoon and pin the hair we see in old photographs of Brigitte Bardot + Rita Hayworth, and even more modern manes via Victoria’s Secret and Gucci runways. They all share one voluminous secret a good set.
It’s something we rarely do anymore because we just can’t seem to find the time. The thing is, just like anything else in life, if you want that hair you’re gonna have to work for it.  Prep your hair with your favorite setting product. I would clearly love to reach my head through the screen, take a personal peek at your hair + tell you what works for setting your hair type but you really should ask the person who knows your hair best your hairstylist! You'll feel better, especially if you spent your day sitting at a computer listening to Taylor Swift and thinking about how you should really leave work in time to get to the gym. The 3 Day Military Diet Review - Can you Lose 10 pounds in a Week?

The Military Diet plan, also known as the 3 Day Diet is a diet plan that claims you can lose up to 10 pounds in three days. In addition, the diet claims that no strenuous activity or exercise is required, and no pills or supplements needed to assist in this weight loss plan. It also proclaims that the chemically formulated food combination is designed to not only burn fat, but also kick start your metabolism to lose weight fast.
The 3 day diet menu is free on the internet, and is included in this review. Not only is it free, but the meal plan itself also seems very affordable. Nonetheless, in this case I’m not sure if free and affordable equate to a good deal. After a closer look at the 3 day diet menu, and the 3 Day Military Diet plan, I did have some major concerns and questions I needed answering. Source:

Preparing mentally for taking on this extra commitment will help you. Your blog name, your colors, your images, and your tone all from your online presence, or your brand. DIY UNDER BED ROLLING LEGO STORAGE CART

Yesterday I revealed our boys’ shared bedroom space, and today I am sharing a little DIY organizing idea that we did to help store and manage all of the LEGO that seems to come along with having boys. A DIY Under Bed Rolling Lego Storage Cart. Lego is a bit of a Jekyl and Hyde, if you ask me. On the one hand, I love seeing the boys play with mixed lego (not just sets with instructions) as I think it is fabulous for developing their creativity, spacial awareness, and fine motor skills.
On the other hand, few things manage to infiltrate your home in quite the same way as lego. I didn’t want to store it down in the playroom with the other toys because I knew that it would get spread from one end of the basement to the other, and burrow itself into the carpet waiting for the first bare feet to attack. Workout Tips For The Tired And Lazy

Of all the excuses we use when it comes to finding a good reason to skip a workout, “I’m too tired” is probably the most common. Maybe that’s because it seems the most logical. Exercise requires energy, so of course we don’t want to work out when we’re feeling drained. But what we often forget is that a little bit of activity can actually help to boost our energy levels, so the “logic” we use to justify the “too tired” excuse is actually pretty flawed. If you are one of those people, here are some tips to get you going!
If you find that you’re more of a morning person, always work out in the morning. Obviously you’re going to have to make some adaptations to your sleeping schedule, but overall you should be much more motivated to hit the gym if you find that you are a morning person. In addition to this, it will keep you energized throughout the remainder of the day. Read more here:

Here’s how you can prepare red wine mask with ingredients you already have in your house!
You need:

How to prepare the mask: Combine these 4 ingredients in a bowl and mix them until it turns into a homogeneous composition. The mask is applied on the face with your fingers, gently massaging. Because it contains refined sugar, massage movements must be gentle and circular. Apply it on face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Do not rub the face or neck with a towel after rinsing, just press it easily to absorb water. Source:

The most effective treatment against dandruff

Scalp’s dry skin is the main cause of dandruff. On the other hand, occurs in seborrheic dermatitis case, when the scalp is irritated easily. The key in both cases is to keep a balance: wash your head whenever needed, thus preventing sebum accumulation and dead cells. You should pay attention to treatments and shampoos that you use, because dandruff can occur after an allergic reaction to cosmetics.

It seems that diet plays an important role. Specifically, people whose diet is rich in fatty acids and carbohydrates are more prone to dandruff. To counterpoise this imbalance, experts advise us to eat food with a high content of vitamin B6 (bananas, fish, nuts) and sulfur-rich vegetables (cabbage, eggs, garlic, onion).Continue Reading at RD.com

31 Household Products You’ll Never Have To Buy Again

1 cup borax, 1 cup washing soda (or baking soda will work, as well), 1/2 cup citric acid, and 1/2 cup of kosher salt as a scrubbing agent. Use vinegar as your rinsing agent. Shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, rosemary oil, and peppermint oil are the ingredients you’ll need to make this natural shaving cream. Add distilled water, witch hazel, and citronella oil to a spray bottle.
The secret is in the pump, not the soap, so never throw out an empty foam soap dispenser. Refill it with 1 teaspoon of liquid soap or dishwashing liquid and fill the rest with water. How to remove makeup stains from your clothes

Nothing is more annoying than to ruin your clothes with makeup stains. You must admit that it happened to you at least once when a favorite dress or shirt was throw as new because traces of makeup. Fortunately, most makeup stains can be removed with the right solutions and little patience. Foundation stains are some of the most common.
In general, you risk staining collars and scarves. Liquid foundation can be removed easily with a detergent dissolved in water. Most foundations have in their composition different oily ingredients, so removal will be easier with a detergent. You accidentally touched your boyfriend shirt with lipstick? No problem. Spray hairspray on the stain and let it act 10 minutes, rinse the stain and put clothes on washing as usual. Read more here:

8 TRICKS TO HELP YOU GET BACK INTO A REGULAR EXERCISE ROUTINE

I don’t know about you, but I have been SERIOUSLY slacking with my exercise routine lately. It started about a week before my father-in-law saw me naked over the Christmas holidays, it got worse while I was slaving over the redesign of my blog, and it’s been spiraling out of control ever since.
And then this morning I made the fatal mistake of putting in my contacts BEFORE I had my shower, caught a glimpse of myself in our full-length mirror as I was toweling myself off, and had the shock of my life. What the heck happened to me??! The thing is, I’ve never been an overly big girl, but when I slack off my exercise routine for more than a couple of weeks, I immediately start seeing dimples in places I really shouldn’t be seeing dimples. 25 Delicious Ways To Eat Eggs For Dinner

Just look at that happy little poached egg with that glorious runny yolk and consider how lame it is that eggs are always being pigeonholed as a breakfast food. Eggs are too delicious and versatile not to be eaten all the time, including no, especially for dinner.
Golden egg yolk mixed with buttery noodles is something you definitely need to experience. Eggs Benny shouldn’t be a brunch-only food. It’s so much bigger than brunch. Poached eggs and asparagus is a perfect match. Grits are a serious bonus. Read more here:

This easy to make, over the top Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip will have everyone coming back for seconds! The perfect dessert or appetizer for fall! I’m seriously into dips right now. Like MADLY into dips. I went to Apple Hill this past weekend and bought all the apples. And now, naturally, I am making allthedips to dip them in. This one is the best so far. So here’s the thing. Up until a few weeks ago the thought of pumpkin and apple together seriously grossed me out. Like, YUCK. And then I made this Skinny Pumpkin Dip and I was like OMG this is GOOD! So now I want everything to be pumpkin + apple.
But then there’s my long standing love affair with all things caramel apple. Caramel Apple Empanadas, Caramel Apple Shakes, Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls, Caramel Apple Monkey Bread, and the list goes on…and on…and…you get the idea. So I combined them into this ridiculous dip which is going to rock.your.world. Pinky promise. Read more here:

Garlic Parmesan Broccoli and Potatoes in Foil

I have three love affairs when it comes to food: 1. side dishes, 2. foil recipes and 3. garlic parmesan. Side dishes are one of the most important components of a meal, sometimes even more important than the main entree, and foil recipes are, well, just so stinking easy.cSo when you combine all three together, you create the most epic side dish of all.
It’s quick, it’s packed with tons of flavor, and it all comes together in an easy peasy foil packet with freshly grated Parmesan, plenty of garlic, and Italian seasoning. But the secret for a successful foil packet is to use baby red potatoes the teeniest ones you can find. If baby red potatoes are unavailable,  it is best to cut the potatoes in small pieces so that they can be cooked in a timely manner without overcooking the broccoli. Read more here:

How to Get Rid of Blackheads With a Few Simple Steps

Confession time: nothing makes me happy quite like a good old-fashioned magazine, those glossy relics from the days of yore. A few weeks ago, in a box whose insides hadn’t seen the light of day for nearly 20 years, I found a veritable library of ancient fashion and beauty mags. It felt like opening a time capsule from the 90s.
I didn’t know it, but I was about to embark on an educational journey one that would begin with some awful skin care advice and resultant consequences, but ultimately lead me to a discovery that is nothing short of miraculous. In a 1993 “letters to the beauty editor” feature in a magazine, a reader had sent in a question about getting rid of blackheads at home. Score! I thought to myself. Read more here:
