So first things first? You need to start a blog! You can do this free on blogger, or for a monthly fee on typepad. Plenty of people monetize those sites wonderfully, however, if you are serious about blogging I recommend using a self-hosted wordpress blog. I moved to a self-hosted wordpress blog a couple of years ago after almost six years1 with typepad because it offered more capabilities in terms of design and monetizing. 

I felt really intimidated to make the change but I am so incredibly happy that I did. There are several ways to do this but I am going to walk you through what I personally do because, well, that is what I know to be tried and true so I feel the most comfortable recommending it to you. Kaylaaimee
